A new book on spoonbills

We are pleased to introduce a new book, “Sinagote, the Life Story of a Spoonbill,” published by North Book Publishers. In this book we tell the life story of a spoonbill we have named Sinagote. This is a female from Vlieland with the word 'Sina' in her name, the Breton name of the village she migrates to every autumn.

More then Sinagote alone

This story is about more spoonbills than just Sinagote. In fact, it is about much more than spoonbills. We tell about the connections between spoonbills, but also about the connections between areas in Europe and between people who live and work in those areas, who have an open eye for spoonbills and work for them. In a combination of love story and success story, 'Sinagote, the life story of a spoonbill' tells about the importance of looking, thinking and acting beyond our national borders when protecting our migratory birds.
